Not So Fast

Even though most of it already melted, snow has decided to make a repeat visit to A2. I'm hoping it's gone by the end of break.

Answered Prayers

(The title of this post comes from Capote's final, unfinished novel Answered Prayers, for those who don't know. Capote died three days after I was born - make of that what you will).

It is a lovely 38 degrees out today, which means the snow is melting and I might actually not have to hike through snowdrifts for a couple of days.

And I have a job offer!

Whiteout

How much longer will there be snow on the sidewalks that the A2 municipal government refuses to get rid of, thus impeding my commute? I hope the answer is on the order of weeks and not months.

White Out

The first major snowfall has arrived, appropriately enough on December 1. It's been snowing picturesquely all day, and now that it's night the half-melted snow has turned to ice on the roads. Dangerous, yes, but it's a little cartoony to see cars going at 5,000 RPM but only 15 MPH. Let's hope there are no accidents - and that the A2 Road Commission does its work.

Wet, Wet, Wet

Someone thought it was a good idea to dump a few inches of wet snow on A2 today. Thanks.

Rashomon

For some reason I had reminded myself that A2 isn't much colder than NYC - maybe five degrees, on average. Lies! Looks like it's closer to ten.
